Introduction
Welcome to my Developer Diary! As I continue my journey as a frontend developer intern, I'm excited to share with you the latest installment of my monthly reflections. Each month brings new challenges, discoveries, and opportunities for growth, and April was no exception. From refining existing techniques to exploring new concepts, this blog post offers a glimpse into the continuous journey of learning and discovery in the world of web development.
Major Takeaways
- Custom Fonts in Tailwind
I learnt how to integrate custom fonts with Tailwind CSS. Obtaining fonts from digital libraries and downloading them locally has improved our projects' aesthetic appeal and given me invaluable experience in customizing designs to fit requirements.
- Design Collaboration with Framer and Figma
Collaboration with the design team using tools like Framer and Figma has been a key focus area. From refining font sizes, weights and other design elements, to perfecting image placements and dimensions, our collaboration has bridged the gap between design and development seamlessly.
- Shopify Theme Customization
Even though I'm still learning how to customize Shopify themes, I'm happy with my work so far. I haven't learned many new skills, but I have spent time learning about customisation choices.
- Command Line Basics
I've also familiarized myself with command line basics. From navigating directories and creating new ones using commands like mkdir, to copying files with cp, I’m getting comfortable with the command line interface to improve my efficiency in executing tasks. Also, learning shell termination techniques like exit and control c has further improved my ability to work with command line environments.
- Understanding Package.json
Finally, I discovered package.json files and how important it is to have them in projects in order to maintain project organization.
Conclusion
In conclusion, April has been a month of growth and continuous learning. I've expanded my skill set and deepened my understanding of key concepts in web development. I look forward to building upon these foundations in the months to come.
